Mrs. Hegan Joy Ihuaku

Mrs. Hegan Joy Ihuaku had her first degree in Pure and Applied Mathematics from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology
(LAUTECH) Ogbomoso, a Post Graduate Diploma in Education from NTI and Master’s degree in Educational Administration, Management and Planning with National Open University Nigeria. Trained Montessorian by International Montessori Teacher Training Institute Abuja Nigeria and Special Education Needs Teacher Training by Rex Yankey–Otoo School Accra–Ghana.

Mrs. Hegan is the founder and CEO, Emerald Kwesikofi Educational Consult Nigeria Limited (EKEC) through EKEC, she organized the first ever virtual Spelling Bee and Mathematics Competition in Nigeria during the pandemic Lockdown and recorded about 90% success. She succeeded in engaging the Nigerian students during the lockdown and has been recognized as one of the best educationists that ensured that Nigerian students continued to be educated while on Covid – 19 pandemic lockdown.

She is also the founder and National President, for the Association of Private Preschool and Primary Leaders (APPPL) Nigeria.

She recently founded Emerald Kwesikofi Academy 64 crescent Gwarinpa Abuja. A Nursery, Primary and Junior Secondary Inclusive Education with over a hundred mainstream and sixteen Special Needs Students. The SEN categories are ASD, ADHD, SPEECH IMPAIRMENT, DOWN SYNDROME, DYSLEXIA AND DYSCALCULIA.

Mrs. Hegan Joy is also experienced in school technology and data base, school program design, curriculum enrichment, Montessori education, staff evaluation, Special educational needs and education procurement. She has been nominated five times as teacher of the year and has been awarded two times best teacher of the year. She has also been awarded ‘THE LEADERSHIP IMPACT AWARD’ by Spell Quest Nig. Ltd and Educational Ambassador by Lordswill Academy Gwarimpa, Abuja. As a teacher and head teacher of over two decades, she specialized in Mathematics, education administration and Special Needs.

Mrs. Hegan is a mother to four lovely children and blessed with so many God children. She has flair for children, young men and women. She is a great mentor and has mentored so many boys and girls who have grown to become her God children. She is a great influencer , outstanding leader and a superb motivational speaker.
